Part One of Two: Understanding SaaS and the Cloud in travel tech

While originally envisioned using a common infrastructure over the public Internet, another variation has emerged called “Private Cloud” promulgated by hardware vendors and traditional hosting providers which leverages a dedicated infrastructure... Cloud Computing is the aggregation of leverages a shared Internet-based infrastructure (Infrastructure-as-a-Service  or IaaS) with an integrated integration, middleware and development environment (Platform-as-a-Service or PaaS), with the... This differs from the Application Service Provider (ASP) model which provides a hosted single-instance of the application and database for each customer. Many companies also use virtualization in their own infrastructure, but are still somewhat limited in the levels they can achieve because they are only dealing with their own applications, while a Cloud provider can aggregate the needs of many... This is similar to automated provisioning in Cloud Computing except we’re dealing with on-boarding customers, not spinning up new hardware to dynamically meet the infrastructure demands that the new customers may require.  The Cloud Computing model allows a company to dynamically bring computing resources online to meet those needs, but then wind them down when no longer required.  And there is a whole conversation to be had about Public v. Private v. Hybrid Clouds and how they differ from traditional hosted infrastructure, but that’s a whole ‘nother post. Rather than requiring the intervention of IT staff to bring new resources online, Cloud infrastructure can spin up new resources in minutes rather than hours or sometimes days. Technology offers the opportunity for disruption and will always be one of the levers that startups can pull to leapfrog existing players that don’t change to preserve their existing business models or are prisoners of their own technology and... Metered billing allows the Cloud provider to charge based on computing resources consumed enabling companies to turn indirect costs into variable costs, so that they match more closely to the growth of the business and optimize margins, which are... Private Cloud however loses some of the key benefits of the Cloud paradigm, mainly scalability on demand and the ability to eliminate the need for capital expenditures. Often times it is delivered using a shared infrastructure, a single-code base, classically using a Multi-Tenant architecture where all customers share a common application instance and database  – at least from an architectural ‘canon’... Enhanced Computing Efficiency:  Many companies have highly under-utilized computing resources (often < 40% utilization). SaaS denotes a computing environment where multiple customers access the software application over the Internet. “Some say that Saas and Cloud based are somewhat akin to next gen ASP, but to me that’s like saying Neanderthals are somewhat akin to homo sapiens. Some say that Saas and Cloud based are somewhat akin to next gen ASP, but to me that’s like saying Neanderthals are somewhat akin to homo sapiens.  In the public Cloud model, these investments are borne by the IaaS provider and the company only pays for the compute resources they consume using operating budget dollars. If you’re a buyer of travel technology, the technology choices of your supplier goes directly to the sustainability of your vendor, their ability to deliver their solution at the right cost and the performance and functionality you require – now... And while I recognize that a significant portion of the travel industry isn’t particularly technology savvy (eg. tour and activity operators, bed and breakfast and small inn owners), the choices they make regarding reservation systems, accounting... If you’re a provider of travel technology, it’s a question of whether you’re positioning yourself appropriately to meet the future needs of your customers. The other week a few of my fellow Tnooz Nodes and I were having a discussion about whether or not companies in the travel industry should care about the software architecture that their software vendors employ. Convert CapEx to OpEx: Typical on premise infrastructure requires a company to continually invest in servers, storage and related hardware and software to operate their software using capital dollars.

The Beginning

Aim of this blog is to keep our Clients and any Potential clients uptodate with regards to our Webhosting Services.

Here we will post any updates, issues, new things, old things, whats going on and what not and anything and just everything relevant and useful inshallah!

Anyway I thought since this is our first blog post i would post a bit about what we are who we are!

MPADC.com (aka Muslim Programmers and Designers Community) Yeh long and obscure name i know! But done for Search Engine Purposes in a way long complicated Stuff… we started back in April 2003, Just a small discussion forum…why it was created well we just decided that the internet was missing a community for muslim web designers to unite and discuss! Something we could not find anywhere but thought why not give it a crack and start something up worth a shot!

This was what our page looked like back in April 2003

This was what our page looked like!! Just a few lines of Text

Then few months down the line we decided to move on to something a bit more “cool”

http://web.archive.org/web/20031022143649/http://www.mpadc.com/

AT that time were were providing Webdesign, Tutorials and Graphics stuff basically a bit like a reference

Then We decided to go all Orangy

http://web.archive.org/web/20040327001752/forums.mpadc.com/

There is a host of other Weird and Fancy Screenshots you can see here

http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.mpadc.com

We Then Went into the Web hosting business around December 2003, Starting off buying a reseller account then selling webhosting from there! Once we outgrew a few months later we then moved on to a VPS Server then eventually moving on to a dedicated server 1 year later. Hefty but Scary move for us!

But alhumdulillah it has been all good we have encountered many problems as of course being one of the Very few Muslim Webhosts and back many years ago when Political issues was red hot may people thought that they could host their extreme Jihad material on our servers simply because we were muslim and that we had to follow their views! So Unfortunately Several Websites manage to find their ways on to our servers without us knowing about it, which now all have been shut down…

Yes we do believe in people able to air their views but there is a limit when it becomes too extreme! Besides we were not in a position to let down our “Genunine Clients” ! But those were the days we got by……….

but now nearly 6 years on we started in 2003 alhumdulillah have progressed on quite well with Several dedicated servers hosting 100’s of Websites! We also host alot of Non Muslim Oriented website, just because we Have “Muslim” on our name does not mean it is for Muslims only! Hence the name Muslim was there originally targeted at Muslim Webmasters! But if you have a Website that is non Islamic or if you are a non muslim you are more then Welcome to host with us, give us a go and we wont let you down Actually having said that 40% Websites hosted on our box are not of Islamic Nature meaning they are Business Websites or Personal Sites!

Anyway Now who is who behind MPADC..ever wondered who that mysterious person is that replies to your helpdesk ticket 2am in the morning…or who is the one that is up all night restoring the servers if it has suffered a crash……We have only had 2 Major Crashes but alhumdullilah we got through them well. Will post more on crashes on another post later on inshallah as well as other things and useful hints and tips about your account and a host of other stuff…feel free to comment here if you want!

Make Money From Google Adsense

Learning how to make money from Google Adsense is probably the easiest way to make money online. It is made possible when Internet giant Google began their Adsense service in March 2003 and quickly became the biggest force in online advertising.

It is a very simple way to make money online provided you have good quality content. Money is made by pasting Google Adsense advertisement code on your website. Once a visitor clicks on the advertisement, Google will share a small advertising fee that they collect from the Advertiser.

In this article, I will show you what it takes to make money from Google Adsense and more importantly, the benefits with this system. Google Adsense is not a get rich scheme but it does give you a few cents to a few dollars depending on the competitiveness of the advertisement that is being advertised on your website.

But one thing about Google Adsense is that you are not likely to earn a lot of money right from the beginning. However, in the process of making money from Google Adsense, you will need to master the skill of generating traffic from the Search Engines. With this skill, you can easily diversify into other ways of making money online, such as affiliate marketing.

Make money from Google Adsense is simple and gives you a passive income. This acquired skill is capable of producing money 24 hours a day and 7 days in a week all year round. You have nothing to lose and the best part is that you do not have to quit your job to earn this income. Google Adsense is make money at home system!

The first step to make money from Google Adsense is to conduct your keyword research. Keyword research is fundamental to online success. This is to find a profitable niche with keyword research. You need to create quality content that is being search every day on the Internet. It is no use writing a great content where nobody is searching.

Once you have identified the various keywords, it is time to write your quality content based on the keyword that you have done your research. When writing, it is important to litter your keyword throughout your article and yet did not distort the flow of the content. Keyword density is a delicate subject and it is best you read it yourself.

After you have written at least 10 good quality articles, it is time to post it on the Internet and wait for the Search Engines to crawl your articles. This is where many people failed badly. They think it is very difficult to build a website and I really empathize with them since I was there before.

Simply create a blogging account with Blogger or install a Wordpress on a web hosted account. The former is free and the later is that you have to buy a web hosting space with a reliable web hosting company. I have blogged in Wordress vs. Blogger and I leave the decision to you. How to make money from blogging is where you apply your knowledge on make money from Google Adsense.

Finally it is time to market your blog by building back links to boost your search engine ranking. How to get backlink is my blog post that teaches you how to evaluate a back link. The next purpose of getting back link is to increase web traffic with optimized article writing. If your article is well written, chances are that people will want to read more of your great articles and will tend to follow the back link at the end of the article. Now you can make money from Google Adsense any reservations.
