Aptana, here we come
Several experiences made reference to a web hosting company called “TextDrive”; located in California and recommended it with high praise. As it turns out, “TextDrive” is now owned by Joyent Inc. Joyent is an on-demand infrastructure and cloud computing company that serves billions of page views per month. Consumers purchase a base service from Joyent on their hosting technology, called ‘Accelerators’  and can ramp up or down infrastructure resources to match the demands placed on their website. Through various professional contacts, finding someone who could assist with this process did not take long. However, this person was not able to perform the work for a week; so there was time to review the options. During this time, we came across the company “Aptana, Inc.” and their hosting service aptly named the “Aptana Cloud”; which by the way is hosted on Joyent’s infrastructure – small world.
XSLT was being ignored by AWS, but is now FIXED! - hope this helps somebody
Have been banging my head against an XSLT problem on-and-off for over a year. The problem has been that AWS has been studiously ignoring an XSLT stylesheet I've been feeding in with an &Style= parameter. It's a stylesheet that always worked perfectly before, and that also works perfectly on Xalan, Sablotron and libxslt on my Mac. Anyway, turns out that my web host, TextDrive, has Apache's mod_security set up in such a way that the Amazon HTTP client (user agent 'Jakarta Commons-HttpClient/3.0.1') is blocked with a 412 Precondition Not Met. All except the client for Canada ( http://xml-ca....), that is, which reports its user agent as 'aranhabot', and always kept on working fine. I finally discovered this by tailing my Apache access log while making an AWS request.
